Of course, later, when the Julian calendar was set, from January AD, January 1 was considered the time of the beginning of the new year.

 

Those who agree with the second theory have a different analysis. They say that the name of the month of March is derived from the Roman god Ares (Martis), the god of war in ancient Greece; With the month of January, which's name comes from Janus (Ianuarius), the god of doors and gates.

 

They believe that there has been a debate among the Romans for some time as to why the month in which the new year begins should be; Is it the name of a goddess of war? For this reason, after some time of controversy, they announced the first month of the year in the hope of peace and friendship, January, which means opening and victory.
